Dunstone Wines Wellington

Dunstone Wines is a small boutique winery lying at the foothills of the historic Bainskloof pass in the beautiful Bovlei Valley, outside Wellington. Dunstone Wines have been attracting a lot of attention with their wines, which have won a number of awards, including double gold at the recent Michelangleo 2010 competition.

With only two cultivars – Merlot and Shiraz - and only 2.7 ha under vines, Dunstone Wines have been producing an excellent range of award winning wines since 2006 including Shiraz; Merlot and a Shiraz Rose.

The 2006 Shiraz collected gold at the 2007 Swiss International Airlines Awards.
The 2007 reds have been even more successful, with Dunstone Shiraz collecting a gold while still in barrels at the SA Young Wine Show, and Gold at the 2007 Veritas awards.

The 2007 Dunstone Merlot was awarded a Bronze at the SA Young Wine Show and Silver at Veritas 2007.
Their Shiraz 2008 recently reeled in 5 stars in the Platter Wine guide (the first 5 star in Wellington region), Gold at the International Wine Challenge in London, Gold at the old Mutual trophy awards and topped it with Double Gold at the Michelangelo 2010 competition. A true flagship of the winery!
Anticipate the results of our new vintages, which have been released recently.

The wines are handcrafted with passion by this family team: Lee & Abbi Wallis, with Abbi's father Robert Frith, along with wine consultant Adi Badenhorst.
Our cellar has opened the Stone Kitchen @ Dunstone - spoiling you with luncheons and wines from this region. It has a playpark for children, so families are welcome thoughout the week to come and unwind.
