Seven generations of our family have lived on this farm and family is definitely driving force behind Bon Cap. The new spectacular winery, with a view of the underground barrel room through glass panels from the tasting room, is a must-see for visitors. Together with our children, Wilmien, Christina and Stefaan, our office staff and the team on the farm, we are dedicated to the production of excellent quality wines.
Part of the new conference facility is the Bon Rouge Bistro. Our lunch and dinner menu is revised daily subject to the availability of fresh produce. We are renowned for dishes such as South African waterblommetjiebredie, traditional Cape style bobotie.
Lately the farm also boasts 7 cottages, a conference and wedding facility, a bistro and coffee shop and a privately owned winery.
To accommodate our guests during our hot and dry Karoo summers we have a swimming pool, a lapa (Boma) and for the more adventurous, there is the Breede River, which flows by on the border of our farm. The guest cottages at Weltevrede (the original homestead on this seventh generation family farm) are built on the edge of one of the dams on the farm. The river and dam are popular for fishing and birdwatching.
