Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the 146 hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting programme, specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes.
From the Jordan hillside vineyards one has spectacular panoramic views of Table Mountain, False Bay and Stellenbosch. Gary and Kathy worked internationally for two years, refining their high-energy instincts with practical experience. They returned home to build a cellar in 1992
Restaurant
Menus at Jordan Restaurant change daily, but the format for lunch and dinner remain the same throughout the year.
Our Cheese Room features South African cheeses including; blues such as Brevis Blue and Cremolat Gorgonzola, hard cheeses like Kimilili Witzenberger and Healy’s Mature Cheddar and a selection of goat’s cheese. Most of our cheeses are made by small producers from all over South Africa and are not available in retail outlets. Guests are invited to make their own selection to enjoy with wine or as a dessert.
Functions
Jordan Restaurant seats between 65 and 80 guests. Our private Atrium Room seats between 20 and 30 guests, the semi-private Cellar Room 8 to 10 and the main section 50. With notice, Jordan Restaurant is available for private events for groups of between 20 and 80. Menus can be tailored to suit different budgets and tastes.
