Our guiding principal is to ‘tread lightly’ and the whole team works hard to minimize our carbon footprint, utilization of chemicals, use of borehole water and impact on the environment. All our red wines benefit from at least 12 months in tanks and french oak barrels. Our premium Black Swan Reserve gets an additional 2-6 months in barrels to give it that something extra.

Not only do we offer our wines from our boutique vineyard to you, we also have our own vineyard restaurant, aptly named the Franschhoek Kitchen.
Our head chef Bjorn enjoys nothing more but finding the best local fresh produce and using our very own vegetables and fruits from our gardens in order to create clean combinations of tasty, lekker food.
Our standards are based on the best international cuisine but our heart lies in the simplicity and pureness of each and every ingredient. High dining is for others, we prefer to see our guests enjoy a home-made dish, inspired by the country we live in and the farm we work on. Our vineyard is heavily influenced by the seasons, so are we, so is our food - nature at its best, brought onto your plate - either in the dining room, amidst the vines outdoors, or in form of a picnic along the Franschhoek River - every time with a good glass of wine from our estate. Saturdays we offer breakfast and al fresco lunches during our farmers’ market in front of the restaurant and Sundays is braai day, where we invite the whole family for a great lunch on the Holden Manz wine estate.

Our creative team is happy to suggest and plan the most outstanding events for you, our locations on the farm range from the private corner where the two rivers meet to the cellars - from picnic areas along the river to the large banqueting space in the Franschhoek Kitchen restaurant, from the orchard with its over 400 fruit trees to the outdoor restaurant area amidst the vines.

The wellness spa is in the quiet corner of the estate where the two rivers meet, a perfect setting to escape the daily worries and hassles and dive into a world of tranquility.
The health and wellness spa has four treatment rooms, three of them with their own terraces opening out onto the vineyards where a glass of rejuvenating ice tea or cold mint water awaits you after your massage and treatment.
Our excellent staff offers a multitude of therapies, all including the holistic Africology products which can be purchased in our spa as presents or for continued use at home. the Africology brand is uniquely presented by the Holden Manz spa in Franschhoek.
