Dieu Donne is situated high on the steep southwest facing slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains. Here the sun is tempered, ensuring slow ripening of our grapes. And thanks to cool summer conditions and Dieu Donne's unique soil strata of Hutton and Clovelly from weathered granite with a rocky top soil, found only in this corner of the Valley, the vines do not show excessive vigour, nor do they over-produce. This exceptional terroir gives Dieu Donne wines their special character.
Dieu Donne grows two thirds red and one third white grapes. The cellar produces 16 500 cases per year, of which nearly half is exported to countries around the globe.
Weddings
Dieu Donné is known as a full ‘turn-key’ wedding venue so when you decide on us as the venue for your special day, access to the following is included; On-site co-ordination on your wedding day to ensure a flawless event; exquisitely upholstered high-back chairs to go with our beautiful square wooden tables; our own cutlery, crockery and glassware to ensure quality meals and drinks and a selection of overlays and linen napkins that can be chosen according to taste. Dieu Donné supplies one waiter per 10 guests to ensure everyone is offered world-class standard attention. We pride ourselves on flexibility and nothing is cast in stone so we can easily accommodate any special requests – all included in the price!
Dieu Donné has access to two different settings: a Restaurant (that can seat up to 90 guests including a dance floor and 130 guests excluding the dance floor) offering guests the opportunity to have either a small intimate wedding or a big banquet style event. Alternatively, our Terrace setting flowing out onto the lawn area (that can be used as a dance floor) can seat 80 guests. A range of décor options from formal to informal apply to both in and outside areas. Dieu Donné provides a dedicated on-site Wedding Co-ordinator can help you plan the entire event and ensure a flawless wedding.
