The botanical gardens are one of the most beautiful and tranquil places to visit in Stellenbosch. They boast with a unique and wide variety of plants including; a glasshouse for tropical plants, herb garden, rock garden, waterplants, Cape flora, Japanese garden and bonsai collection. Entry is free and there are benches under the trees where you can relax and enjoy nature. There is also the Katjiepiering restuarant in the gardens that serves light lunches and salads.
