Knorhoek, the time-honoured Stellenbosch estate known for its repertoire of roaring Cabernets and elegant whites, has released the latest vintage rosé in its accessible Two Cubs range of cheerful, easy drinking wines.
Purring with pleasure, the light hearted Two Cubs Rosé 2011 is an inspiring fruit-forward wine for everyday enjoyment with the integrity synonymous with Knorhoek Estate. Flaunting a bright candy floss hue, this merry blush of Shiraz (39%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon (19%) and a dash of Pinotage, shows great balance between fruit and acidity, with delicious berry notes on the nose.
“At Knorhoek we are passionate about all our wines and put as much effort and care into making our easy-drinking range as with our finest award-winning wines. The name of our Two Cubs range gives the perfect impression of what to expect from within. Playful wines with great gusto,” shares Knorhoek winemaker Arno Albertyn.
The Two Cubs Rosé 2011 stems from selected vineyards blocks in a corner of the majestic Simonsberg where lions once roamed, with some of the grapes picked early to lend a fresh, crisp taste profile and some harvested at optimum ripeness to contribute a more intense mouthfeel and well-rounded flavours to the wine.
It is the perfect pre-dinner sip or icebreaker at weddings and parties. This rosé, which should keep well for the next three years, complements light meats, green salads and seafood sensations – ideal for al fresco spring celebrations.
The great value Two Cubs Rosé 2011 sells from R30 per bottle and is available directly from the estate or at leading wine outlets nationwide.
