Ashanti

Ashanti Wines
Western Cape Winelands - Paarl

The Ashanti Wine Estate is located beneath the peaks of the Klein Drakenstein mountain range in Paarl. The Estate comprises 165 hectares, of which 95 hectares are planted mostly to noble red varieties.

Ashanti's terroir with its fertile slopes at the foot of towering mountains enables the winemaker and the viticulturist to optimise the variables of the unique microclimate. The combination of cold nights and warm days enhances the complexity of the tannins and favours the perfect ripening of the grapes.

Ashanti's flagship wine, Chiwara, a complex composition of the noble cultivars grown on the Estate, is a fitting tribute to the ancient African symbol. Chiwara expresses the finest of Ashanti's terroir, the end result of the combined knowledge and experience of the winemaker and viticulturist.

Ashanti's premium range of cultivar wines includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot as well as the uniquely South African Pinotage.

Ashanti's only Single Vineyard wine, the specialty cultivar Malbec, is released annually in small quantities.

Backsberg Estate

Backsberg Estate
Western Cape Winelands - Paarl

The philosophy of Backsberg remains that of providing pleasure and enjoyment to a broad range of wine lovers by producing wines not only with structure and finesse, but with a high level of "drinkability". Simply put, if you find our wines easy to drink and, above all, enjoyable, then we have been successful.

As an Estate we are able to initiate and follow this whole process from the growing of the young vine till the bottling of our finished product. We furthermore believe that our wines should be priced to reach the tables of as many wine drinkers as possible so that all can share in some of the magic that is Backsberg.

Backsberg has been selected as one of the Top 100 Wineries of the Year by Wine & Spirits Magazine in New York. Wineries are chosen based on consistently high performance and scores throughout a 12 month tasting cycle.

Boland Kelder

Boland Kelder
Western Cape Winelands - Paarl

Boland Cellar has evolved into a truly dynamic and progressive cellar, and has progressed from being a supplier of bulk wine to large wholesalers, to a purveyor of fine wines competing on the global market under its own brand names.  Over the past eight years, the wines from Boland Cellar have proved beyond doubt that it is able to compete successfully on the International stage.

Teamwork is key to Boland Cellar's success. This philosophy is based on the fact that quality starts in the vineyard, is maintained and enhanced in the cellar, sealed into the bottle and owed to the consumer. Continuous teamwork from the grape producer to the marketer is vital, and something to which all employees of the Company and its producing-shareholders adhere and subscribe to. This ensures that 'quality' is not just an empty term used purely for marketing purposes, but rather a true reflection of the efforts of all the stakeholders in Boland Cellar.
